Meet our new DDPI Worldwide Board members

12 November 2024

Please join us in welcoming our four new DDPI Worldwide Board members, Louise Faulkner, Jane Foulkes, Mariëtte Henning-Pugh and Susan Scott.

They were officially announced and introduced at our online AGM on Saturday 9 November, after an open application process and Board vote earlier in the year. They step into the places vacated by outgoing members, Joy Gamble and Alison Keith, who have helped guide DDPI Worldwide through transition and formation over the past 3 years.

Louise Faulkner is a therapeutic social worker and DDP Practitioner and Consultant in Training in Northern Ireland. Louise writes that she is “looking forward to collaborating, mentoring and learning with other passionate and motivated individuals, systems and organisations across the DDP Community”.

Jane Foulkes is an independent psychotherapist and DDP Practitioner, Consultant and Trainer in the UK. Jane has been involved with DDP for over 20 years and “hopes that her experience will be useful in aiding the ongoing development of DDP globally”.

Dr Mariëtte Henning-Pugh is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, PGDip in Neuropsychology, and DDP Practitioner in the UK. Mariëtte hopes “that bringing my skills… to the Board… I may be able to contribute to broadening the recognition of DDP as a respected evidence-based model in the UK and worldwide, thus supporting wider access to those children and families who need it most.”

Susan Scott has a Masters in Social Work and has been a dedicated DDPI committee member for several years in the USA. Susan is “driven by the belief that the power of one can be exponentially multiplied through teaching and collaboration, embracing challenge, and welcoming diverse perspectives”.

They will join co-Chairs Benjamin Hargrave and Michelle Hogeterp, and members Anne Benson, Carol Frazier, Tatiana E. Gorney and Ellie Williams. For full biographies please visit the DDPI Board of Directors page.

Delroy Madden, former DDPI Worldwide Board co-chair, is the Board’s new Diversity, Equality & Inclusion Consultant. He is working with DDPI Worldwide to implement the diversity and inclusion strategic plan, made up of three foundational pillars: Culture, Values and Behaviour, Leadership and Organisational Development.

Joy Gamble and Alison Keith, both DDP Practitioners, Consultants and Trainers, have been instrumental in the work to create DDPI Worldwide, bringing the organisation through the transition with former Chairs, Courtney Rennicke and Betty Brouwer. We are eternally grateful for their committent and resolve in moving DDPI Worldwide towards becoming a more social equity and racially just organisation. They will be taking up co-Chair roles in the Training Committee, after Kim Golding and Julie Hudson stepped down after many years of dedicated committee work.

Our Board is made up of 10 members, living in 7 different countries, with diverse experiences and training in DDP, and who come from varied professional backgrounds reflective of our community.

The video of our AGM will be available to view very soon, you’ll hear updates from our committees and find out about the Board priorities and exciting future plans.
