DDPI Worldwide is the international organisation responsible for stewarding the standards, training pathways, certification, and professional integrity of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) across the world.
Later this year, three members of the DDPI Worldwide Board will be completing their terms. We are therefore inviting expressions of interest from people who may wish to step into Board service and help shape the next phase of our global work.
Could that be you?
Who we’re hoping to hear from
Our current Board brings together a wide range of experience — from pre-practicum members to experienced DDP Trainers — across five countries and two continents, including members for whom English is a second language.
We welcome expressions of interest from people of all genders, backgrounds, abilities, sexualities, and ages, particularly where these perspectives have been historically under-represented in governance spaces including:
- people for whom English is a second or additional language
- people from communities outside the UK, USA and Canada
- people whose ways of thinking, working, or leading may feel different
Difference strengthens our governance and our shared practice.
US-based Board members and Treasurer role
DDPI Worldwide is an US registered non-profit 501(c)(6), and maintaining strong US-based representation supports effective governance and regulatory compliance.
As two US-based Board members will be stepping down this year, we are particularly keen to hear from people based in the United States. This includes interest in the Treasurer role, which must be held by a US-based Board member. Prior involvement in the DDP community or clinical experience is not required for this role.
If you know someone with strong accounting skills who may be interested in supporting DDPI Worldwide through Board service, we warmly encourage you to share this opportunity with them.
DDP Trainers
We are also keen to hear from DDP Trainers who can bring a depth of understanding of the model and help keep the Board grounded in the core principles of our shared practice.
Our commitment
We are committed to making Board participation as accessible as possible. We recognise that our organisation carries inbuilt biases and limitations shaped by our history, structures, and ways of meeting. We are actively working to challenge these, and to create Board spaces that foster safety, connection, and meaningful participation.
If you have a passion for DDP, have completed Level One and Level Two training, and are open to connection and engagement, we would very much like to hear from you.
Being a Board member
Being a Board member is meaningful and demanding work. It also connects you with colleagues across the world, deepens your understanding of DDP, and offers opportunities to shape the future of our shared practice.
Board members are paired with a mentor and supported as they step into their role. You will be encouraged to focus on areas that interest you and to build relationships within the DDP community that often extend well beyond Board service.
Furthermore, Board members are supported by the DDPI Worldwide Executive Director, who also serves as Company Secretary. With significant experience in governance and organisational leadership, the Executive Director supports the Board to work confidently and effectively, particularly for those new to Board service.
Eligibility
Appointment to the Board is subject to eligibility requirements under New York Not-for-Profit Corporation Law and DDPI Worldwide’s governance policies, including director declarations and conflict-of-interest disclosures.
If you are unsure of your eligibility, we encourage you to register your interest and note this in your response so it can be discussed confidentially.
