We are recruiting for the new DDP Worldwide Board. DDPI is now collecting expressions of interest from all those curious to find out more about the new Board, including from people who may be undecided.
In 2023 we will launch DDP Worldwide and after a period of transition our new Board will take the reins from DDPI. This new organisation is in active development, and we need the help of our DDP community to move into the next phase of growth.
We are looking for expressions of interest from our entire DDP community and beyond. No matter your experience of DDP, whether you are certified or if you have volunteered for a leadership role before, what matters most to us is that you feel called to action.
This is your chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and their families impacted by developmental trauma.
Registration has now closed.
Who should register?
If you’re reading this, we urge you to register your interest even if you are undecided.
Our DDP Worldwide and Foundation working group have been working hard over the last 10 months, so that its core DDP Worldwide will be a racially equitable and socially just organisation.
Our vision is that the board will be representative and integrative of geography, race, sexual orientation, gender, educational experiences, and levels of training in DDP. This will enable it to provide strategic planning for our community that is culturally conscious and effective in addressing the impact of developmental trauma.
**The initial draft of the DDP Worldwide Board Recruitment Information Sheet fell short of our stated intentions to provide a safe and welcoming environment to LGBTQ+ community members, instead creating more barriers and a sense of exclusion.
We are incredibly grateful to all DDP members who most graciously provided feedback on the document. As such, we have re-evaluated our process of recruitment and how we can make it more equitable for everyone.
We are still learning, but aim to follow the recruitment standard of positive action. Once candidates are determined as suitable for board membership, we will then make decisions about board composition based on under-represented characteristics in our organization, including but not limited to: racial identity, sexual orientation, gender, physical ability/disability, geographic location, neurological profile, and education status.
Holding positive action in mind, we are looking for people willing to volunteer for one to three year terms of service. We welcome applications from people no matter their experience of DDP, whether they are already DDP members and/or have experience within DDPI (e.g. committees or working groups, etc.). We would also like to hear from people who have legal expertise and strategic financial planning skills. Two people will need to live in the United States for legal and financial reasons.
We have put together the document DDP Worldwide Board Recruitment Information Sheet, which includes more details on the process, proposed board composition, time commitment and our vision for the board.
