DDPI and DDP Connects UK are thrilled to announce that the next DDP conference is going ahead from 23-24 September 2024 in the UK and online.
Our theme is “DDP: Exploring Intersectionality”. With a curious, PACEful attitude we will explore Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Practice through an intersectional lens, learning how the different facets of identity can relate to one another, developmental trauma and to DDP in action.
We will focus on how to collectively grow and adapt the DDP model. Welcoming all families and practitioners and addressing systemic marginalisation at the intersection of developmental trauma, isolation and oppression. This includes, but is not limited to, marginalisation due to race, age, religion, sex, national origin, geographic isolation, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, disability, and neurodiversity.
The conference will bring together people who are developing DDP by reaching into and working with communities, pioneering across countries and cultures. Finding playfulness, acceptance, curiosity and empathy in diverse settings, in newly developing areas and through pioneering practice.
It is being held at the East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham, UK. More details about speakers are to come and main conference sessions will also be made available online.
We are working to make this conference as accessible to all as we can, from booking your tickets through to your experience at the venue. We are also mindful of equity of access to the event as a whole.
We will be calling for speakers and abstracts in the near future and urge you to read and share the pack when published as widely as possible.
This is the first conference in the UK since 2019 and so we expect it to be incredibly popular. Mark these dates in your calendar and keep an eye out for when the tickets go on sale.
