Join Viv for a lively discussion about bringing therapeutic approaches together. Many children who have experienced developmental trauma face a range of challenges which may benefit from different approaches at different times or in combination. Many professionals undertake a range of training and are keen to integrate and draw on the strengths of different models, but to become fully accredited in different models can be out of reach.
This session will consider how to make the most of what different models have to offer, while holding risks in mind, with a focus on DDP and Theraplay®. The By Your Side transitions model for supporting children who have to move families will be used as an example, among others.

- The typical ways DDP and Theraplay® are currently coming together in clinical work
- Opportunities and risks – when combining approaches can be helpful and when it may diminish impacts
- By Your Side – how DDP and Theraplay® are being combined in a successful model to support children moving family
Who can attend
It is is open to anyone who has completed their DDP Level One training and ideally also has completed minimum Theraplay® Level 1.
About Vivien Norris
Vivien is dual qualified as a DDP Trainer, Consultant and Practitioner and a Certified Theraplay® Trainer, Supervisor and Practitioner and has been combining approaches over many years. She is also an Accredited BUSS™ Practitioner (Building Underdeveloped Sensorimotor Systems). Vivien is author of core texts on Theraplay® and has written clinical resources to support family transitions which combine Theraplay® with DDP (By Your Side).
