SUMMARY:DDP Group Supervision (Friday mornings)\, Australia
DESCRIPTION:This DDP Group Supervision for meets online and is facilitated
by Leah Millward\, DDP Trainer\, DDP Consultant\, DDP Practitioner and DDP
PACE Trainer\, and Michelle Thiele\, DDP Practitioner and Psychotherapist
.\n\nThis space was established to enable people to connect and to continu
e to support your DDP journey\, as we know it is hard to grow and gain con
fidence in isolation. The group is aimed to provide a safe space to build
skills\, provide encouragement\, to keep the DDP conversation going and to
connect and share with others. You do not need to be skilled in DDP\, jus
t keen to know more and wanting to grow and gain confidence\n\nThe group i
s open to clinicians and professionals who have completed either DDP Level
One training or both DDP Level One and Level Two and are looking for some
thing further.\n\nSessions are online and run for 1.5 hours and open to an
yone across Australia\, though it is also hoped to build connections and n
etworks within states. It is understood that not everyone will be able to
join for every session\, however it is hoped for a semi-regular group of f
aces who can get to know each other and build connection and trust.\n\nThe
Supervision Group offers a safe space to guide discussion and to build co
nfidence\, rather than providing an information or teaching session. There
will be opportunity to ask questions and each session will be guided by t
he group as to what is needed.\n\nThere is scope to request a focus on spe
cific areas that you may be having difficulties with and to discuss specif
ic cases and seek some group input. We are hoping participants will take u
p the opportunity to present tapes of their sessions to the group\, in ord
er to gain feedback and to aid learning both at an individual level and as
  a group.\n\n\n\n\nConfidentiality Agreement\n\nDuring group supervision\,
we discuss our practice and at times our own vulnerability as professiona
ls in the work we undertake. We may also show recordings of our sessions w
ith clients in the supervision space. To ensure safety for both participan
ts and also clients\, we require all group members to sign a confidentiali
ty agreement prior to participating in the group.\n\n\n\n\nOrganisers\nLea

SUMMARY:Developing trust in children impacted by developmental trauma: Inte
grating Low Energy Neurofeedback (LENS) with DDP\, Jon Baylin & Sian Phill
 ips
DESCRIPTION:Jon Baylin and Sian Phillips discuss how DDP can change neural
networks in ways that promote the development of trust in children who hav
e been impacted by developmental trauma and in the parents and adults who
care for them. \nOver the past two years\, Sian has been integrating Low E
nergy Neurofeedback (LENS) into her work. DDP is necessary but not always
sufficient given the complexity of some of our families. Jon’s expertise
in neurobiology and Sian’s clinical experience are brought together to
discuss how LENS can relatively quickly organize neural networks in ways t
hat improve children and parent’s ability to make use of therapy and red
 uce automatic defensive responding.  \nWhat you’ll learn\n\nParticipant
s will learn how neural networks adapt to chronic stress and trauma and ho
w LENS can help those neural networks change from adaptive defensive behav
iour to more integrated coherent behaviour. \n\nWho is this for?\n\nThis
session is valuable for anyone interested in DDP\, neurobiology and neurof
eedback.\nAbout Dr. Jon Baylin\nDr. Baylin has been working for many years
on the goal of creating a neurobiological model of how DDP works. Current
ly he is using a model of developmental trauma based on the newer neurosci
ence of intrinsic brain networks. He has been teaching mental health profe
ssionals about the network model and how relational treatment and neuromod
ulatory procedures like low energy neurofeedback may help to reset brain n
etworks. Jon has been collaborating with Daniel Hughes for the last 15 yea
rs including co-authoring Brain-based Parenting and The Neurobiology of At
tachment-Focused Therapy. Jon has been developing a brain-based model of e
arly life adversity and attachment-focused treatment over the past 25 year
s and has been conducting trainings internationally on the theme of Puttin
g the Brain in Therapy for the past 10 years.\nAbout Dr. Sian Phillips\nSi
an is a psychologist and DDP Trainer who has been using DDP as a core way
of being for the last 20 years. Sian has trained and supervised many thera
pists and organizations to integrate DDP into their practice. She has work
ed with educators to create relational safety for students and started the
Belong classroom for children who cannot access regular education given t
heir developmental trauma and mistrust of adults. She has co-authored two
books and written three chapters outlining the benefit of DDP. More recent
ly Sian has integrated LENS into working with children and parents. This e
xciting way of working helps decrease defensiveness and re-organizes neura
l networks in ways that decrease symptoms of trauma and increase availabil
ity to relationships and engagement in various forms of therapy. Sian also
is integrating Deep Brain Reorienting for adults where trauma symptoms ar
e a function of shock deep in the brain stem.\nDDP in Focus: your professi

DESCRIPTION:This is a free DDP Interest Group for Social Workers and Social

nThe group is a specialist SIG set up specifically for social workers and
social care staff in recognition of the differing needs and issues often a
rising for those professionals\, as opposed to other professionals working
in more clinical/therapeutic settings. The group offers a safe space to d
iscuss relevant issues and discussion within the group often includes expl
oring particular dilemmas associated with using a therapeutic DDP approach
alongside the statutory tasks and responsibilities of the social worker r
ole.\n\nIn addition\, the group provides an opportunity to build professio
nal connections\, keep in touch with the wider DDP world and to support ea

DESCRIPTION:This DDP Group Supervision for meets online and is facilitated
by Leah Millward\, DDP Trainer\, DDP Consultant\, DDP Practitioner and DDP
PACE Trainer\, and Michelle Thiele\, DDP Practitioner and Psychotherapist
.\n\nThis space was established to enable people to connect and to continu

fidence in isolation.

SUMMARY:Infant Mental Health DDP Interest Group\, December 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Infant Mental Health DDP Interest Group meets online and bi
-monthly. It is for colleagues who are at least DDP Level One trained and
who are beginning to think about applying DDP principles in their practice
in perinatal\, infant\, maternal\, neonatal or similar services. This gro
up is relevant for those who are currently working with infants (antenatal
ly up to 24 months as per the widened perinatal community mental health of
fer).\n\nWe hope to offer a safe space where people can explore using the
principles in their work\; the barriers to it and successes from it as wel
l as any other themes that arise in this way of practicing.\n\nWe aim to m
odel the model by holding onto PACE and connection when coming together in
this space. The discussions are likely to include thinking about the rese
arch\, service development\, training\, as well as anonymised casework (th
e SIG is however not a space of or substitute for peer or clinical supervi
 sion).\nOrganiser\nDr Agnieszka Anna Pytlowana\, Clinical Psychologist\n\n

SUMMARY:DDP Special Interest Group in Residential Children’s Homes\, Dece
 mber 2026
DESCRIPTION:This free Special Interest Group (SIG) is for practitioners who
are using\, or beginning to use\, DDP principles in residential childcare
settings. It offers a supportive\, PACE-full space to connect with others
\, share ideas and dilemmas\, and think together about how DDP can be embe
dded in group living environments.\n\nWe’ll explore themes such as: buil
ding PACE within staff teams\, working with multiple children in one home\
, supporting regulation in the system\, and keeping relationships at the h
eart of everyday residential practice. Sessions may include short inputs\,
discussion\, small group activities and opportunities to reflect on pract
ice.\n\nThe group is not a supervision space and individual cases will not
  be worked with in a supervisory way\; instead\, we’ll use examples\, th
emes and shared experiences to deepen confidence and skill in applying DDP
.\n\nThe SIG will run online (via Microsoft Teams) for around 2 hours\, up
to four times a year. It is aimed at those who have completed at least DD
P Level One and are interested in thinking specifically about applying DDP
in residential contexts.\nFacilitators\nDr Ben Gurney-Smith is a Consulta
nt Clinical Psychologist with over twenty years experience of work with ch
ildren and families in the NHS\, social care and third sector/charitable s
ector. He is currently Consultant Clinical Psychologist of a NHS general a
dolescent unit. Ben is also the Primary Consultant for Clover Childcare Se
rvices in Norfolk and has supported their accreditation as a DDP organisat
ion\; making Clover the first DDP certified residential provider in the UK
.\n\nMark Marshall is a qualified social worker who has specialised in res
idential childcare since 2007 and is currently the Head of Therapy at Clov
er Childcare Services. Over the years\, he has worked in a wide range of r

challenging the group will initially be open to all those with an interest

SUMMARY:DDP & Mindfulness Interest Group\, December 2026
DESCRIPTION:Mikenda Plant is a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist\, who ha
s worked with children and families for over 20 years. She is a DDP Practi
tioner and Consultant\, and trained in EMDR with Adults and Children and A
dolescents. She has trained to deliver Mindful Parenting and runs groups f
or adoptive parents.\n\nShe would like to offer this opportunity for pract
itioners qualified to DDP Level One and above to come together to explore
the integration of Mindfulness into their DDP practice. These are free eve
nts supported by DDP Connects UK\, based in the East Midlands but open to
all.\n\nThese sessions are co-hosted with Polly Nugent\, Clinical Psycholo
gist and DDP Consultant.\n\nSee below for a brief definition of Mindfulnes
s and the aims of this SIG.\nOrganisers\nMikenda Plant \n\nContact: mikend
aplant@gmail.com \nMore details\nPlease contact the organiser to book your
place. Places allocated on a first come first served basis and there is a
maximum group size of 40. Meetings are held on Zoom.\n\nDDP Connects UK s
upports this event and all Special Interest Groups in the UK and Ireland.\
n\n\n\nDefinition of Mindfulness\nMindfulness involves bringing awareness
to the present moment with kindness. It is a way of being\, which can be e
nhanced through meditation practice. Bringing mindfulness into our lives a
nd into our DDP practice\, we can help to develop our awareness of our own
thoughts\, emotions and body sensations and our awareness of our client
’s unique nature\, feelings and needs. It is an ongoing learning process
\, not an end point.\nAims of a Specialist Interest Group in DDP and Mindf
 ulness\n\n To offer a safe\, respectful\, compassionate\, non-judgemental
way of supporting colleagues who are open to exploring mindfulness in the
ir lives and clinical work.\n To recognise that members will have varying
levels of knowledge and experience of mindfulness and that this will be m
et with an attitude of PACE.\n To offer opportunities to practice some gu
ided mindfulness exercises and meditations.\n To share ideas and resource
s for using Mindfulness with DDP clients - for example\, through networkin
g\, watching DVD’s\, reading articles and/or books.\n To determine whet
her specific training or teaching in Mindfulness would be beneficial to me
mbers and identify ways of providing this (the SIG itself differs from a '
Study day' - the latter involves one or more speakers preparing a topic fo
r presentation - and there is a fee).\n To explore possible research idea
s for DDP and Mindfulness.\n To work within one’s own area of expertise
and competence and uphold the requirements and expectations of DDPI and D
DP Connects UK.\n\nThe SIG will not be a forum for providing clinical supe
rvision or consultation - this is something that can be accessed through D
DP Connects UK.\n\nMindfulness research has shown:\n\n‘Mindfulness-based
reflective practice’ can bring a vitality and fluidity to critical refl
ection. Being in the here and now can highlight discomfort\, pain and unce
rtainty. Mindfulness can act as a support to personal and professional dev
elopment and to the content &amp\; processing of clinical work (Polly Nuge
nt et al 2011)\n\nMindfulness can be a useful intervention in addressing p
arental stress in adoptive parents and in increasing parental compassion (
Gurney-Smith et al.\, 2017)\n\nClinician burnout can be significantly redu
ced and resilience bolstered\, if clinicians are taught to attune to thems
elves and reduce stress through mindfulness practice (Krasner et al.\, 200
9)\n\nMindfulness training can help to create receptivity and an ability t
o approach rather than withdraw from difficult situations (Urry et al.\, 2
 004)

SUMMARY:DDP Group Supervision (Thursday Afternoons)\, Australia
DESCRIPTION:This DDP Group Supervision meets online and is facilitated by L
eah Millward\, DDP Trainer.\n\nThis space was established to enable people
to connect and to continue to support your DDP journey\, as we know it is
hard to grow and gain confidence in isolation. The group is aimed to prov
ide a safe space to build skills\, provide encouragement\, to keep the DDP
conversation going and to connect and share with others. You do not need
to be skilled in DDP\, just keen to know more and wanting to grow and gain
confidence\n\nThe group is open to clinicians and professionals who have
completed either DDP Level One training or both DDP Level One and Level Tw
o and are looking for something further.\n\nSessions are online and run fo
r 1.5 hours and open to anyone across Australia\, though it is also hoped
to build connections and networks within states. It is understood that not
