DESCRIPTION:This is an introductory 4-day course on Dyadic Developmental Ps
 ychotherapy\, an intervention model developed by Dan Hughes\, Clinical Psy
 chologist\, USA.\n\nThis approach assists therapists and other professiona
 ls to understand and effectively support children\, young people and their
  families. In this model\, theory and research in the areas of development
 al trauma\, attachment theory\, intersubjectivity and child development ar
 e integrated to produce a therapeutic approach used for relationship devel
 opment and trauma resolution.  DDP recognises the vital role which adopti
 ve parents\, foster carers and residential workers play as primary attachm
 ent figures in the recovery of traumatised\, attachment-resistant children
