Multi-Racial Identity Through the Lens of Transracial Adoption and Treatment Implications

10 June 2024 (9:00 am - 12:30 pm EDTAmerica/New_York)
Fully booked

This presentation by Dr. Elizabeth Studwell is designed to begin to get an understanding of what the lived experience of a transracial adoptee is like from the inside out.

It will focus on the many clinical implications of transracial adoption with emphasis on identity and attachment. Recommendations will also be made as to how to best support interracial and international adoptees and their families as they navigate the racial, cultural, and ethnic diversities that directly or indirectly impact development and attachment.

This lived experience will be explored through autobiographical and clinical examples as we identify conscious and unconscious processes that often arise in interracial adoption.

Who can attend?

This workshop is available to anyone who has completed a DDP Level One training.
