Co-construction of narrative

« Back to Glossary Index

Often a child will find it hard to make sense of his experiences without first developing an understanding of his life together with a caregiver or safe adult.  Co-construction is a shared meaning-making process that involves two people. It is the process through which a child in a close relationship with a caregiver learns how to make sense of his own experiences and behaviors and those of others.
