A story about DDP: What children tell us

“This story summarises the pre-publication results of an exciting new research project. It’s not often that care-experienced children get asked what they think. In this research we played together and we made stories together (story stems) sharing the power and inviting meaningful participation in this research. Here’s what we found out.

The research project was based at the University of Hertfordshire, Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. The research was led by Jessica Christopher, also on the team were, Dr Caroline Creswell, Dr Julie Davies, Dr Kim Golding and Nicky Gooden.

Jessica and Julie, alongside Helen, a participants parent will be further reflecting on this research project looking at positionality and power in DDP relationships at the DDPI Worldwide International Conference [2024], in Nottingham and Online.

With thanks to the 6 amazing children who made this research possible and Meredith Davies, aged 14 years, for creating the artwork for this story.”
