Laura Hooper

Laura is an experienced Play and Creative Arts Therapist, Creative Clinical Supervisor, HCPC registered Social Worker and is in the DDP practicum. After practicing within the Adoption and Fostering arena for many years, Laura opened her own private practice in 2017. In her clinical work, Laura continues to therapeutically support children, young people and their families, based on their individual needs, who have experienced trauma, disrupted attachments and other complex factors, through a broad range of interventions and techniques.

Laura has the privilege of working with a varied mix of caregivers and recognises the impact that adverse early life experiences have on a child’s holistic needs, aswell as the impact on the parent-child relationship. Laura is passionate about supporting families with DDP, helping children and families make sense of difficult life experiences. Laura also delivers life story work training and workshops to enhance and build upon the parent-child relationship through communication, reflection, connection and play.

Laura is a registered member of HCPC, PTUK and adheres to the relevant professional bodies.

Laura has completed PgDip Practice Educator; PgDip Play Therapy; PgDip/PgCert Therapeutic Life Story Work.
