I’m a qualified social worker, specialising in residential childcare since 2007. I have had a variety of roles, from being a Residential worker through to a senior manager undertaking the DDP practicum. I have a real passion for supporting children who have been victims of abuse and neglect and I have complete admiration for the resilience and bravery they show on a daily basis. I have been encouraged by the work with the families that I have completed to learn their stories, to hear their struggles and adversities which has them allowed me to build compassion and develop empathy for them. This then allows the work between children and their families to grow. My work has been predominantly to help children have a home, where they feel love, warmth and nurtured in order to feel trusting and safe again in relationships with other children and adults.
