Mervin Maier, LMFT has been a licensed therapist since 1975. In that time he has worked in many therapeutic domains, including community based counseling agencies, private practice and residential treatment. Of his 13 years working in residential treatment with adolescents the last 7 years spent in Italy. His experience in Italy has deeply influenced his work with families and his understanding of the importance of supporting and nurturing the family structure.

Since returning to the U.S. in 1995 Mervin has worked in community agencies as a therapist, supervisor/consultant and Program Director. Since 2006 years he worked solely in private practice working predominately with children, teens and families with trauma and attachment issues.

He feels that his mission is to share the DDP model with therapists, care-workers, parents and families.  He completely embraces this mission with excitement and heartfelt commitment.

Mervin is married to Rose, lives in Los Angeles County, California, and has two adult children and three beautiful grandchildren.
