Msc. Counselling, CQSW
Patsy started out as a generic social worker gaining expertise with children and families, working across the age spectrum with older people and those with issues of disability and learning difficulties.
She trained as a specialist mental health practitioner and later gained multi-disciplinary experience based for over 20 years in a child and adolescent mental health service (CAHMS).
Patsy has had local authority experience within a post permanence social work team and is currently freelance with an adoption and permanency voluntary organisation, delivering an adoptive parenting programme, counselling and training. She additionally runs a small private counselling practice.
Patsy is a strong motivator, assessing what is possible as well as instilling belief in the power of change. She is enthusiastic about offering ways of ameliorating trauma and distress by integrating energy therapies, whilst primarily using DDP in her family work.
She brings to her work through family experience, a knowledge of adoption and the impact of intergenerational loss.
