SUMMARY:DDP Interest Group for Social Workers and Social Care Staff\, Novem
 ber 2026
DESCRIPTION:This is a free DDP Interest Group for Social Workers and Social
  Care staff who have completed training in DDP Level One and above. It is 
 organised by Debbie Havill\, a former Adoption Social worker who now works
  independently as a DDP Practitioner with parents and carers\, and Anita H
 uggins who is a Deputy Team Manager with Adoption West and is working towa
 rd certification as a DDP Practitioner working with parents and carers.\n\
 nThe group is a specialist SIG set up specifically for social workers and 
 social care staff in recognition of the differing needs and issues often a
 rising for those professionals\, as opposed to other professionals working
  in more clinical/therapeutic settings. The group offers a safe space to d
 iscuss relevant issues and discussion within the group often includes expl
 oring particular dilemmas associated with using a therapeutic DDP approach
  alongside the statutory tasks and responsibilities of the social worker r
 ole.\n\nIn addition\, the group provides an opportunity to build professio
 nal connections\, keep in touch with the wider DDP world and to support ea
 ch member’s DDP journey.\n\nThe level of DDP experience and needs of gro
 up members on the day will set the themes and context for each meeting.\nO
