Event information
This is an introductory four day course on Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy.
The training is relevant and open to therapists and professionals who have experience in working therapeutically with families whose children have suffered from trauma and attachment problems.
Dr. Dan Hughes, Clinical Psychologist from USA, is the originator of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). He is an internationally acclaimed therapist and author of ground-breaking books on attachment and emotional recovery.
Dan has integrated recent research in the areas of neurobiology of trauma, early child development and attachment theory, to produce a therapeutic approach that assists professionals to understand and effectively support the healing of vulnerable children and young people.
DDP recognises the vital role which adoptive parents, foster carers and residential workers play as primary attachment figures in the recovery of traumatised, attachment-resistant children.
