The East Anglia DDP Special Interest Group (SIG) is a free, welcoming space for anyone in the region who is interested in Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) or already using DDP and PACE within their setting. Whether you work in education, social care, residential services, therapeutic roles, fostering, adoption or community-based practice, this group offers a place to come together, connect and learn alongside others.
The SIG provides an opportunity to build a supportive network, share ideas, explore challenges and reflect on what it means to hold a PACE-full stance in our work. Sessions focus on shared themes rather than individual case supervision, creating a collaborative environment where attendees can deepen their confidence and understanding of DDP-informed practice.
Each meeting includes gentle teaching, reflective activities and group discussion, all held within the spirit of PACE. Together, we think about how to embed relational, trauma-informed practice across our teams and organisations, and how to sustain ourselves in doing this work.
Facilitators
Dr Ben Gurney-Smith is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with over twenty years experience of work with children and families in the NHS, social care and third sector/charitable sector. He is currently Consultant Clinical Psychologist of a NHS general adolescent unit. Ben is also the Primary Consultant for Clover Childcare Services in Norfolk and has supported their accreditation as a DDP organisation; making Clover the first DDP certified residential provider in the UK.
Mark Marshall is a qualified social worker who has specialised in residential childcare since 2007 and is currently the Head of Therapy at Clover Childcare Services. Over the years, he has worked in a wide range of roles, from residential worker to senior manager and now as a DDP Practitioner. These experiences have shaped his deep appreciation for the relational, attuned care that children need in order to heal.
