Healing Blocked Trust & Blocked Care: The Basic Attachment-Focused Principles of Helping Traumatised Children and Adolescents at Home, Foster Care and School
Speaker: Dr. Courtney Rennicke, USA
This two-day conference focuses on how to help children and adolescents with developmental trauma disorders, attachment disorders, and severe psychological and behavioural problems, typically having a history of abuse, neglect and violence.
The tools presented in the training are based on Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) developed by Dr. Daniel Hughes.
Conference objective
To provide tools for parents and professionals in families, schools, residential facilities, healthcare, social services and other organisations who work with children/adolescents suffering from traumatic developmental and attachment disorders.
To learn to use DDP principles and PACE to build and support attachment-based relationships between children/adolescents and their parents/carers.
Target group
Professionals working with traumatised children and young people, including foster carers/parents, psychologists, child psychiatrists, therapists and social workers in foster and residential care, family guidance clinics, child protection and welfare, psychiatric units, and special education in schools. Also teachers of educational institutions for social and health care, and teachers and researchers of universities being in important positions to disseminate new ways to help our most vulnerable clients.
