This workshop is designed to enable participants to understand;

  1. Development and challenges of the mistrustful child.
  2. Attachment security and its developmental effects.
  3. How to assist the mistrustful child to begin to trust.
  4. The nature and value of PACE (playfulness, acceptance, curiosity, and empathy), the basic tenets of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy.
  5. Characteristics of day-to-day care for the mistrustful child.
  6. Challenges of caring for the mistrustful child and how to care for the caregiver.

Who should attend?

This workshop is open to parents, foster carers, adoptive parents and professionals from all disciplines interested in enhancing their knowledge and developing their understanding of working with children with traumatic backgrounds and attachment difficulties.
