Phoenix Psychology based in Warwickshire are looking for a Clinical Psychologist with experience or interest in DDP.
Dr Billy Smythe, Clinical Psychologist and Head of Child/ LAC & Adoption Services writes:
“We are looking for a Clinical Psychologist to join our specialist services for children who have experienced developmental trauma and been adopted, fostered or live in kinship care. You will ideally have experience with this client group and a good understanding of trauma, its impact and associated models of psychological intervention. The work will be varied and can be complex and challenging. Our small and friendly team support each other, and like everyone at Phoenix, we bring passion, commitment, and integrity to our work. The child service is based in mid-Warwickshire, but our team members are also commissioned to work directly in and alongside Local Authority teams and in partnership with a range of statutory and third sector organisations too.
Within the service, we are hugely influenced by Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy and Practice (DDP). Experience in DDP is desirable, but we invest in DDP training for our team members. You will have regular supervision with, and be part of a team led by, a DDP Consultant & Trainer – meaning you can look to undertake your DDP Practicum and work in a service where PACE and DDP principles are totally central. We would welcome someone with experience of other relevant models (e.g. EMDR, Theraplay) and in the complex assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions.
Phoenix Psychology is a well-established independent practice with two bases in the Midlands. We provide therapeutic services including assessments, interventions, training, consultancy and supervision and we specialise in working with complex trauma presentations across the lifespan.”
The position is full or part time, with a salary in the same realm as a Band 7 NHS role.
The application deadline is 20th July 2020.
To apply, please contact Ruth Billingham at Ruth.Billingham@phoenixpsychology.com, including your CV and covering letter.
For more information about the role you can ring Dr Billy Smythe on 01926 485760.
