“We currently have an Ofsted registered children’s residential home – Highbury Home in Hayes, Hillingdon, London that accommodates up to four young people at one time. We care for young people who have experienced trauma and adverse childhood experiences, we have children placed with us under s.31 and s.20 care orders. Our young people are vulnerable to substance misuse, CCE and CSE amongst many other things and we provide 24-hour care on a 1:1 and 2:1 basis.
We have a diverse and motivated team whereby we encourage staff development, empowerment and cohesion. Our team are to soon be trained in DDP Level One (and later Level Two) as we aim to implement DDP throughout our organisation in the deliverance of care. Our team of therapeutic support workers will have monthly group supervisions with our DDP Consultant. Therefore, we aim to have DDP at the heart of the care we provide enabling the best possibilities to rehabilitate and rebuild the lives of our young people.
We aim to have a candidate that would:
- Be part of a therapeutic setting that is grounded in community, racially and culturally informed practices with a pragmatic team of therapeutic support workers that are ever-learning
- Be part of a multi-disciplinary team and attending monthly team meetings providing expertise input
- Receive therapeutic supervision by a highly experienced DDP Practitioner
- Occasionally accompany the Registered Manager of the home in online meetings with local authorities to discuss the status of our young people
We are looking for DDP informed therapists and counsellors (trained in DDP Level One or/and Two or certified in DDP), who are experienced in offering DDP sessions with young people around the ages of 11-17.
The ideal candidates will have experience and/or training in DDP but needn’t have already reached accreditation. You will be working with up to 4 young people and their key workers per fortnight (across the same day) and this may increase to weekly depending on the needs of the child. This would increase by another ‘up to four’ for each home we plan to open.”
