Sara Whittaker, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Team manager, Therapeutic Team – TT (Previously LAACTT), Rotherham, has asked us to circulate information about a Therapeutic Intervention Worker post.
Experience in DDP is required and the closing date for applications is 10 February 2019. The post is temporary and part time, working 4 days a week.
“An exciting opportunity has arisen for a therapeutic worker to join the RMBC Therapeutic Team to work with Looked After Children and young people. The Therapeutic Team provides a dedicated specialist therapeutic service to looked after and adopted children and their carers/ adoptive parents. The team aims to promote a greater understanding by foster carers, adopters, social workers and residential staff of children’s emotional and developmental health, and their attachment and trauma issues.
The post holder will undertake direct therapeutic work with children, families and professionals, offer advice and consultations, and deliver training. The models used include trauma and attachment based theories – Theraplay, Filial play therapy, Dan Hughes’ DDP, DBT, family therapy, psychotherapy, mentalisation, and EMDR. Experience is required in delivering family based attachment & trauma informed interventions, facilitating meetings and training for social workers and foster carers, and leading therapeutic networks to support placements.”
