Sara Whittaker, Consultant Clinical Psychologist, Team manager, Therapeutic Team – TT (Previously LAACTT), Rotherham, has asked us to circulate information about two posts for Therapeutic Intervention Workers.

Experience in DDP is required and they are advertised externally with a closing date of 7th January 2018.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two therapeutic workers to join the RMBC Therapeutic Team… The Therapeutic Team provides a dedicated specialist therapeutic service to SGO, looked after and adopted children and their carers/ adoptive parents. The team aims to promote a greater understanding by special guardians, foster carers, adopters, social workers and residential staff of children’s emotional and developmental health, and their attachment and trauma issues.

The post holder will undertake direct therapeutic work with children, families and professionals, offer advice and consultations, and deliver training. The models used include trauma and attachment based theories – Theraplay, Dan Hughes’ DDP, DBT, family therapy, mentalisation, and EMDR. Experience is required in facilitating meetings and training for social workers, adopters and foster carers, and leading therapeutic networks to support placements.
