By Your Side - Foster Carer Adopter Guide

Vivien Norris and The Family Place are launching By Your Side, a new set of attachment and trauma-informed resources for supporting children who are moving families.

By Your Side includes a range of trainings, two guides and a children’s story book.

The guides include one for Foster Carers and Adopters (available now) and one for Professionals/Practitioners.

By Your Side was developed by The Family Place following many years’ experience supporting vulnerable children as they move family.

The model is based on our growing understanding of the impacts of developmental trauma on children and it uses best practice intervention approaches, based primarily on TheraplayⓇ and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy.”

Vivien and The Family Place are launching By Your Side on Wednesday 10 July (11.00am-2.00pm) at a free event for Service Managers/Leads in central Birmingham. Vivien is inviting relevant managers from fostering and adoption services and kinship care services to attend. Places are limited.
