A new DDP Interest Group for Yorkshire based in Leeds is starting this July, 2021.
This is the third DDP Special Interest Group for the North of England, along with North East based in Redcar, and North West based in Cheshire.
It will be run by Georgia Cooper, DDP Practitioner, BACP registered therapist and director of Anchor Therapy, and will have a special focus on reflection and self care.
“This PACE based space will allow practitioners time to reflect on the DDP model whilst gaining connection and understanding.
The work we do as professionals working with trauma is demanding. PACE is a way of being, offering it to others requires that we are fully available in the moment and invested in the relationships we build. This can be depleting as our greatest resource is our self. Our capacity to attune and embody our communication with clients is key in DDP, so allowing ourselves to recharge, be playful and accepting of ourself is a regular necessity!”
The first meeting will be held on 31st July 2021, from 10am and 12pm, at The Old Surgery, 4a Green Road, Meanwood, Leeds, LS6 4JP. Please visit the event page for more information.
The first Yorkshire meeting is a chance to meet others interested in DDP in the area and to engage in a joint enquiry into what participants might need from the space.
This is a free event supported by DDP Connects UK.
There are 8 places available as this is an in-person SIG, please register by e-mailing info@anchor-therapy.co.uk, and include your level of DDP training if any.
