Practitioner becoming certified in DDP
Therapeutic Social Worker
I originally trained as a Social Worker and in that role worked for the Local Authority Sure Start project as well as a Family Centre Manager for Action for Children. Working in the Family Centre and in Sure Start gave me the opportunity to learn how important attachment is for parents and children in creating a warm, safe, reciprocal relationships. My current role is with the RAP service with Action For Children which looks to support placements whether that be foster placements, adoptive placements or where birth families are at the point of breakdown. I work with both children and adults and feel very lucky to be managed by someone who understands that there are no quick fixes in attachment work and therefore I am supported in making meaningful relationships with the families I work with.
