Billy Smythe is a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in work with looked after and adopted children and young people. Billy completed a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2009 and undertook NHS roles within a therapeutic fostering service and a specialist mental health team for looked after children before joining the team at Phoenix Psychology Group full-time in September 2012. Phoenix Psychology Group is an independent provider of psychological services in the Midlands that accepts referrals from individuals, Local Authorities, health services and other statutory and non-statutory organisations.
Billy provides assessments and therapy for children and young people with attachment difficulties, complex developmental trauma and mental health problems and has a special interest in providing psychological consultation and support to foster carers, parents and professional networks around children. Billy is particularly interested in providing adoption support.
