Biography

Dr. Sarah Kildea is a Senior Clinical Psychologist who begun working in NHS mental health services in 2004.  She has specialised in working with traumatised children, their families and professional networks and her core treatment approach is DDP.  Sarah worked within local authority and NHS specialist ‘looked after children’ teams in London and Plymouth for 10 years. Sarah runs a small private practice in South West London and Surrey. She primarily works with adoptive families.  She also works with adults who have experienced childhood trauma, offers consultation to agencies such as local authorities and private fostering / adoptive agencies and provides DDP supervision to a range of professionals.  Sarah has significant clinical  experience and expertise in providing psychological assessment of children’s psychological needs, assessment of adult and carer / parents needs, specialist therapeutic intervention, consultation (e.g. parents, carers, social workers, teachers) and supervision.  Sarah is a certified DDP trainer providing training for professionals.  She also has extensive experience of training carers in relation to attachment, complex trauma and therapeutic parenting and has also given lectures on doctoral clinical psychology training courses.
