Practitioner in DDP
Dr Eleanor Brown, DClinPsy. is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and accredited Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy practitioner.
Eleanor works within a multiagency team in Worcestershire specialising in supporting looked after and adopted children and their parents or carers. The service draws upon attachment theory to consider children’s needs in relation to their early trauma and has attachment relationships at the heart of all its interventions, whether this be direct therapy, consultation, parenting support or training.
In addition to her work within the NHS and Children’s Services, Eleanor also practices independently. Working from an attachment perspective she is passionate about engaging children in meaningful therapeutic relationships and helping them to develop healthy, loving attachment relationships with their parents or care givers. Through this work she has met with many wonderful children, parents and carers who have helped her to understand just how hard it can be to live with the impact of trauma.
Eleanor has two small children of her own and constantly uses them as opportunities to try (and sometimes fail) at therapeutic parenting and using PACE!
