Jane Hughes is an HCPC and BPS registered Clinical Psychologist and has been working for over 30 years with children and their families in a range of different settings, including CAMHS, Paediatric Psychology and Child Bereavement Services. Most recently she has been working specifically with looked after children and their parents using DDP. She has worked across the range of child and adolescent mental health difficulties including anxiety, bereavement, abuse, autistic spectrum conditions, depression and self harm, and is informed by systemic and psychodynamic therapy.
Having worked in family therapy and psychotherapy teams most of her professional life, Jane was drawn to the ideas of Dan Hughes and has applied her understanding of Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity and Empathy to all her therapeutic relationships. She trained with Dan Hughes in 2011 for her Level One in DDP and completed Level Two with Dr Sue Drake in 2017.
She is currently working as an independent practitioner and has begun the DDP Practitioner practicum supervised by Dr Sue Drake. She is based in Totnes South Devon.
Jane is also the parent of four young adults.
