Marie Kershaw

Hi, my name is Marie and I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BSc Hons, Clin.Psy.D., CPsychol., AFBPsS). I've worked with a variety of client groups and service settings, including NHS, Local Authorities, community, inpatient and forensic services, as well as the independent and charity sectors.

I'm passionate about delivering high quality and effective services to give children and young people the best possible chance of healing and recovery from the developmental impact of complex trauma, significant attachment disruption and early adversity. I specialise in the development and delivery of psychological support services for looked after and adopted children, young people, families; supporting professional networks & strategic vision.

I'm currently the Head of Psychologically Informed Practice at Birmingham Children’s Trust. I have worked with the All Party Parliamentary Group for Adoption & Permanence, giving expert evidence re: the future of the ASF & regularly attend DfE / LA / RAA user groups re: ASF.

I sit on the Board of Directors for DDP Connects UK, and co-chair the West Midlands Regional DDP Special Interest Groups.

I have some limited capacity for independently commissioned work (consultation, teaching/training, clinical supervision, strategic support).
