Practitioner in DDP
BSc Psychology, PhD in developmental neuropsychology, and DClinPsy
Having worked within a specialist CAMHS Children Looked After team in Nottingham for the past 6 years, Zoe now works full time in independent practice, Synchrony Psychology (http://www.synchronypsychology.co.uk), offering therapy, consultation, training and supervision to families and professionals in the East Midlands region.
She qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2009 and since this time has worked with children, young people and their families either within birth or adoptive families or within local authority care. A proportion of her work is using a consultation model, offering a reflective space to the networks supporting young people. However, direct work is also offered to young people and Zoe is trained to use a range of psychological models as appropriate to the needs of the individual, including DDP as an accredited practitioner and Theraplay to level 2.
Alongside direct therapy, she offers teaching, training and supervision to carers, parents and professionals on topics including attachment and its relevance to children in care, therapeutic re-parenting of young people with difficult early attachments and trauma, and the impact of early trauma on brain development. Where possible her involvement extends to schools where she also aims to develop a better understanding of the complex needs of children in care and adopted children within educational settings.
