KidsTLC, in collaboration with the DDP Institute, presents:
2019 DDP International Conference, Kansas
The Power of Deep Listening to Heal, Connect and Transform: Insights from DDP and Beyond
The International Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy Institute conference invites all who work with children — professionals in mental health, education, foster care and juvenile justice — as well as parents and caregivers, to discover learning, resources, and connections that support our work.
Monday, Sept 9, is devoted to pre-conference workshops with Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept 10-11, full conference days.
The full conference days feature keynote presentations from Dan Hughes, founder and developer of DDP, and Deb Dana, international speaker on the polyvagal theory of safety and threat. Kim Golding, a leading DDP trainer and author from the UK, and Jon Baylin, DDP neuroscientist and author, are also featured presenters. Other speakers include noted DDP trainers Vicky Sutton, and Alison Keith. There will be a special presentation and performance by Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg, former Poet Laureate of Kansas, and Kelley Hunt, an American blues pianist, singer, and songwriter inducted into the Kansas Music Hall of Fame.
The four pre-conference workshops on Monday, Sept 9, 2019 are as follows:
- Dan Hughes – Fundamentals of DDP
- Deb Dana – The Rhythm of Regulation and the Polyvagal theory
- Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg and Kelley Hunt – The Song and Story in Your Heart and Mine
- KidsTLC – DDP in Residential Treatment onsite workshop
Continuing education, anticipated but not confirmed, is approximately 6 hours per day.
