Phillips, Sian a6bf71a7b562b8d1b6d9a570c85c6e5c-bpfullTrainer: Dr Sian Phillips, Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Sian Phillips, specializes in the assessment of trauma and attachment difficulties and works with children, foster parents and adoptive parents using Daniel Hughes model of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy. Sian is a certified DDP therapist, consultant and trainer.

Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy is family-based and focused on facilitating the child’s ability to establish a secure attachment with his/her caregivers who are present and engaged in the therapy process. This exciting way of working helps the caregiver understand what lies behind difficult behavior and to provide a safe, empathic relationship in which the child can begin to explore traumatic, hurtful and shameful experiences and importantly learn to experience themselves differently.

This four day course is open to those professionals who have undertaken Level 1 Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy training and are beginning to use the principles and interventions of DDP in their day to day work.

The Level 2 training focuses on gaining a deeper understanding of the theory, successes and barriers experienced by participants in applying the model in practice, more videos and discussion of DDP and the impact of participant’s own attachment experiences.

It is helpful, but not mandatory, if participants have examples of their own DDP practice, such as case studies and/or recordings, to share with the group.

Recommended reading prior to your training:   Attachment-Focused Family Therapy Workbook

Audience:

This is phase two of certification in DDP training and is limited to 20 participants.

Participants do not have to be planning to certify in the model to take Level 2.
