Dear DDP Community,
As you are no doubt aware, the situation with Coronavirus is changing within North America and around the world. This is understandably causing some anxiety and uncertainty about upcoming events and the need to plan as best as we can.
The DDPI Board of Directors is addressing this situation by gathering as much information as possible, then taking sensible and coordinated action in areas where we have control. Right now, the World Health Organization (WHO) says that “fear and misinformation are the biggest challenges to overcome” in tending to this virus. Our intention is to make rational decisions based on as accurate information as possible from reliable sources, like the WHO and the US Centers for Disease Control.
In alignment with the principles of DDP, the DDPI’s Board’s goal in this situation is to keep people as safe as possible. In some cases this may mean a disruption of plans. We understand that this may cause people some hardship. Please know that we are balancing any hardship we cause with our goal of keeping people safe.
Please continue to check the DDP Network site for updated information about upcoming Level One and Level Two trainings and study days. Should the need to cancel or postpone events arise, we will endeavor to work with providers to keep you updated via the website and social media outlets.
Please bear with us during this time of uncertainty. Should you have any questions or concerns regarding an event that you booked, please contact the host organization first for local information. Please be aware that we have no control over decisions made by any individual businesses, organizations, or providers who may wish to cancel or postpone events in response to local circumstances.
The essence of DDP is learning, teaching and embodying trustworthy, collaborative and supportive relationships. We are honored to be engaged in this noble mission together with you. Thank you for being our partners. May you and your loved ones be healthy and well.
Betty J.B. Brouwer
Chair, DDPI Board
