Wendy Coetzee is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist specialising in supporting children with developmental trauma. Wendy works with adoptive and foster care families, children in residential care and birth families using a DDP informed therapeutic approach in her clinical work since 2005.

Wendy has over 20 years NHS experience, 5 years as a Clinical Director developing a DDP/PACE informed model for a national children’s residential care company. She has also developed her own therapeutic and training practice – The Foundations Consultancy. Wendy has a passion for developing services to support children with complex attachment and trauma-based needs and their families. She has an "Innovation in Practice" awarded by the British Psychological Society for pioneering a therapeutic parenting programme for birth families with children on the edge of care.

Wendy has focussed on supporting parents to develop emotionally connected relationships with their children, using a PACE/DDP informed therapeutic parenting approach. She recognises the importance of supporting families to build trust and develop emotional connection with their children. Relationships are central to enabling children to heal and create a secure and happy future. Wendy is passionate about using a DDP based approach and recognises how transformational PACE can be in her therapeutic work.
