World-renowned experts in DDP at the International Childhood Trauma Conference, Australia, August 2025

Dan Hughes, Kim Golding, Jon Baylin, Lorren Arezio and many more Australian DDP community members, will be at the International Childhood Trauma Conference 2025 in Melbourne this month.

This is the fifth biennial International Childhood Trauma Conference organised by the Australian Childhood Foundation (ACF) and will bring together global experts in trauma and attachment to explore “transformative approaches to healing trauma, through connection, collaboration, and community”.

DDP and PACE will be deeply featured throughout, in keynotes, presentations, workshops and with many abstracts accepted for the Digital Poster programme. This conference showcases the most current research and understanding into developmental and relational trauma and the best practice approaches in the field.

Kim Golding and Dan Hughes will be presenting their keynote “Healing relational trauma and the importance of self-reflection by the DDP therapist“, and will be joined by Jon Baylin for advanced masterclasses on “contextual aspects of Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) interventions“.

Dan is delivering his own masterclasses on Tuesday, 19 August. Kim is also delivering a keynote on “Providing DDP interventions with parents who have experienced trauma” and the masterclass “A cascade of PACE. Building Dyadic Developmental Practice (DDP) into the fabric of residential care for children“.

Alberto Veloso and Lorren Arezio are delivering “From Behaviour Management To Cultural Healing – A Collaborative Work With Burrun Dalai Aboriginal Corporation Using DDP To Shift The Narrative And Focus Of Interventions For Aboriginal And Torres Strait Islander Families And Their Children Who Are Engaged In The Care System.

Members of our DDP Australia Steering Committee will be in attendance, including co-chairs Lorren Arezio and Leah Millward, who are looking to connect with all delegates interested in DDP, PACE and leading DDP innovation in Australia.

We’re also very proud that DDP and PACE-focused abstracts have been accepted into the Digital Poster programme. Authors include Clare Walsh, Barry Morris, Michelle Thiele, Stephen Sward, Leah Millward and Lorren Arezio.

The conference is from August 17–22 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre in Melbourne. Tickets are still available on the conference website and we thank and celebrate all of our DDP experts and practitioners for their contributions.
